Miami / Florida. Just one year after opening their first US office in Miami, KVM specialists Guntermann & Drunck (G&D) are celebrating the completion of a range of large projects. To build on this success, the company is due to open a new sales office in the New York region to offer additional local support.

G&D offer the largest KVM product portfolio on the market. The range is made in Germany with all the build quality expected from that pedigree. Backed by 30 years KVM experience, the company has completed several large projects over the year including a recent installation for the Golf Channel, part of the NBC Sports Group and providing more live golf coverage than all networks combined. And the channel gives a great testament to G&D’s product quality: “The G&D system has been in operation since late 2014 and so far we have had no issues with the system or its components. It’s running very stable and reliable. We indeed trust in G&D’s technology”.

The Golf Channel installation is part of G&D’s strong focus on the broadcast sector. As Carlos E. Yanez (Vice-President of Sales, G&D North America) says, “With the shift to IP and file-based workflows, broadcasters have realized the importance of KVM for a capable infrastructure that can handle all IT equipment”.

G&D North America will be demonstrating a wide range of their latest innovating KVM systems at this year’s NAB show. On the stand, G&D’s digital KVM matrix systems will show the intuitive CrossDisplay-Switching, allowing seamless movement across connected displays from independent computer sources simply by moving the mouse. For users, it’s like handling a virtual desktop – the infrastructure disappears into the background allowing them to concentrate solely on the task in hand.

G&D’s matrix systems use a compression algorithm developed in-house to ensure absolute system compatibility for future proof installation. However, G&D also manufacture uncompressed systems and will be presenting their latest innovation in this field at NAB – the DP1.2-VisionXG for transparent KVM transmission up to 4K@60 Hz, totally lossless and without any latency.

The advantages of KVM in today’s broadcasting industry are underlined by Tobias Dreier (Director Sales Americas, G&D GmbH) who says, “We can see a real demand for high quality and reliable KVM systems. That’s why we are looking forward to demonstrating these in live operation at this year’s NAB show”. You’ll find the G&D KVM systems mentioned and more at NAB on stand N5623.

The new KVM extension DP1.2-Vision-XG extends computer signals up to 10,000m via fibre optics and transmits 4K videos at full 60 Hz without using any kind of compression.

CrossDisplay-Switching does not stop at unusual monitor arrangements and multi-head graphics cards. Thus, users can work intuitively since the switching process simply follows the mouse pointer.
